Juicy pale green flesh with a cast of light orange in the middle, While this melon slips before it is ripe, the outside skin or rind should have an warm light orange hue and then it has a great flavor. Its flesh is temderly firm and not sloppy wet like some melon. California grower Harald Hoven says it performs best in milder climates with a sweet smell as well as taste, In our zone 4 in Nebraska, we sowed Sharlyn in May and it ripened in Sept.
